Fish Report for 7-12-2012
We had an incredible day of fishing today in very good weather. We started out
with biting yellowtail from 18 - 30 #. They were eating everything from the
surface iron to the dropper loop. It was just a matter of which outfit an angler
wanted to use. By nine in the morning everyone had enough yellowtail and we left
them biting. We then headed offshore looking for tuna. The yellowfin we found
were 18 - 42# fish with a 26-28# average. The best thing about these fish was
the way they wanted to bite. When the fish were located they would get right on
the corner and eat everything in the water. By our third stop of the afternoon
we broke out the hookless poppers, jigs etc. and just watched clouds of these
fish blowing out on our offerings. After enjoying the incredible voraciousness
of hungry yellowfin tuna, we for the second time, left them biting.
We will spend tomorrow looking for inshore exotics and enjoying the scenery
close to the rugged Baja coast.
Today's shot shows our awesome Charter Master Ben Ouano with some yellowfin just
before we put them in the RSW tanks.

7-11-2012Today we had good weather, good yellowtail fishing and beautiful scenery. We caught fish from the surface to the bottom on both bait and artificials. The action was steady, giving the crew just enough time to give a little one on one instruction, ensuring everyone got in on the action. Today Alex Nekoranec gets the photo honors with a 22# yo-yo caught yellow. Brian Photo Here... ...... Read More

Being on the first annual Garcia - Ouano Charter, we went prospecting offshore in marginal weather looking for bluefin tuna in an area where some was caught when the weather was up. Unfortunately it was a down day and we came up empty on the bluefin. We had a few stops for practice on the small offshore yellowtail (released) and put a few 18 - 22 pounders onboard. We will be concentrating on yellowtail in calm weather tomorrow. Brian...... Read More
