Fish Report for 6-17-2011
After a flat calm night on the anchor, we got rolling and found some yellowtail that were willing to bite. We drifted for most of the morning with a couple going. A few times we got flashed and had 6 - 8 going. This made for a great morning of yellowtail fishing. In the afternoon we made a move and checked out another area. We found beautiful water conditions, but few fish that wanted to bite. Just before dark we headed up and out to do some looking offshore while making some miles towards home. Around 10 pm the wind and swell picked up and we changed plans. We will be on the coast for a couple of hours of coastal fishing in the morning.
Two pictures for your viewing pleasure today. First, we have Brian Strayer with one of his yellows taken on the iron. Second, Frank De Filippo in the foreground tangles with an island yellow in flat calm weather.

At lunch we took off to look for biting fish in other places. We managed to put a few more fish on the boat, but never found what we were looking for. We will be looking to add to our yellowtail score tomorrow. Brian...... Read More

We enjoyed another fantastic day of bluefin fishing. We hit multiple spots and stayed busy throughout the day. The bluefin were 25 - 50#. We also mixed in a handful of 20 - 25 # albacore. With a smattering of albacore showing up it won't be long before we find the main body of them. As for tomorrow, we are changing things up and will be fishing for yellowtail. Today's picture shows Dave Honadle Sr., who has been absolutely...... Read More
