Fish Report for 1-25-2013
1/24/13
It's not often that we find ourselves out of step; taking today's results into account it's hard to argue
otherwise. "They should have been there", and they should have, but they weren't in sufficient numbers, and those
that were didn't want to bite.
It wasn't a total bust, we managed to land a few handfuls including a 202 for the "Commander" Geoff Houck, but
those dozen keepers came one at a time from here and there making for a long drawn out day. It didn't look good,
and definitely did not give one the impression that it is going to be better any time soon.
So we hit the road to the south west hoping to improve the pace for at least a few days before considering
alternatives. With fair wind and seas it is a smooth ride; a perfect time to make a move.

Signs of fish were abundant, especially in size classes perfect for offshore summer adventures, but conditions were contrary to success just about everywhere we hung out our shingle. While reserving judgment for at least one more day it is obvious that some help from the Fish Gods is in order. There is no shortage of enthusiasm or effort, that alone has a...... Read More

1/22/13 Plain, physically and mentally. We traversed the stretching leagues fair and indifferent. The sublime side of Nature once again evoked peaceful notions - thoughtful, pleasant, and not too profound. A day of relaxation is what it was. A day to be enjoyed in fine spirits by the grace of Mother Nature. Tomorrow begins a more durable exploit, we hope, as the fishing portion of this voyage begins. After a worthy stretch of travel we are all well prepared. It is time. Tim...... Read More
