Fish Report for 6-6-2012
06/05/12
Incredible sign of yellows here at the island today but they made us earn every bite. The fish were up on big krill balls which made for exciting visual displays with dozens following each surface jig right to the boat. Typically they dont bite well when they're on this type of feed so hopefully it moves out tomorrow and we get a good shot.
The weather is quite unpleasant on the outside but it is forecast to start coming down tomorrow night, we hope to get back on the bft grounds Thursday.
Dave Hensley is in today's shot with a 70lb bft.

On another note, due to the overwhelming popularity of the impromptu, 2 1/2 day voyage we scheduled next week, we are adding an additional two such voyages at the end of June! Departing 6 p.m. Sunday June 24th returning 8 a.m. Wednesday June 27th are the dates and times of the first "mini" long range expedition. The second voyage will follow the same format departing Wednesday the 27th returning Saturday the 30th. Both voyages are offered for $700.00 and are limited to 24 anglers.
With the present sign of Bluefin offshore expanding, and the prospects for success much closer to home by that time excellent, we are feeling very good about the potential these voyages offer. If nothing else it is a great opportunity to introduce family and friends to fishing on Royal Star without the significant time investments typical of our schedule. The voyages will be operated exactly as any other long range outing offering the full Royal Star experience including the advantage of premium fish processing by our processor, Fisherman's Processing at the conclusion of the adventure. If either of these voyages fits your schedule and/or budget give Tracy, Brian, or Tim a call in the office. At the rate the first 2 1/2 day filled please don't hestiate too long. Between the fishing potential these voyages offer and the fantastic value it is a rare opportunity we are pleased to offer!

6-5-201206/04/12 Plenty of spots today but unfortunately the ones we found didn't want to bite. We scratched 30bft with a handfull being the bigger models while the rest were 18-30lbs. Our code boats had some good shots at the school fish but we opted to stick it out in the big fish zone which is why the numbers were lacking. The weather is forecast to come up for the next few days so we're heading into an island to wait out the...... Read More

06/03/12 An epic day in beautiful flat calm weather to start our annual Baja Fish Gear trip. Within minutes of getting to the zone we got on a spot of 50-75lbers that responded and bit steady for three hours. When the dust settled we had 59 aboard; talk about going from zero to sixty in 5 seconds. We haven't seen this caliber of fishing on this grade bft in quite awhile so if your on the fence I would get on...... Read More
