Royal Star Fish Report

6-18-2011
Royal Star

We tured the boat last night and headed in to the coast where we made a concerted effort to find some halibut to take home with us. They did not want to take a free ride to San Diego, so we drifted some shallow hard bottom spots and played with various bass and rockfishes. This was appreciated because as soon as the bait hit the bottom, guys were bit. There was alot of laughter at the rail as our anglers remembered why they love fishing in the first place. We then called it a trip and headed up the line. We will arrive at the dock at 0715 tomorrow the 19th.

Our picture today is of Larry Brown, who came out on the losing end of a fight with his bait.

Jackpot winners are as follows:

1st Place Tucker Andis 59.5# Bluefin Tuna
2nd Place Jeff Morris 58 # Bluefin Tuna
3rd Place Tie J.C. Hardemion and Dave Honadle 55# Bluefin Tuna

Congratulations!

At lunch we took off to look for biting fish in other places. We managed to put a few more fish on the boat, but never found what we were looking for. We will be looking to add to our yellowtail score tomorrow. Brian...... Read More
