The man himself, Kurt Schaefer, Senior Scientist from the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, gets the call today with a few great action shots taken throughout the voyage. I have mentioned it before but enough can not be said of Kurt's enthusiasm for his work and the amount of energy he dedicates to these projects. In addition to being a world class scientist with significant accomplishments to his credit, he mixes the right amount of fun into his work on Royal Star, making certain that anglers are enjoying their time while tagging yellowfin tuna and wahoo. Kurt's ability as an angler always seems to prevail as well as he lands his share of specimens for tagging on every voyage - including a few over the two hundred pound mark. It is very safe to say that these projects would not have happened were it not for Kurt and his contributions. As such, we are all privileged that Kurt has embraced tagging projects in these regions and are grateful to be involved.
