Fish Report for 7-14-2004
Yesterday was just one of those days that I really have to reach to say anything good about. Other than the boat running well and everyone's health being intact the day was hideous with dreadful fishing and disagreeable weather conditions. We covered excellent ground in the traditionally productive zone but spinoff from tropical storm Blas was the likely culprit affecting our negative results. Fortunately we have plenty of time remaining to get back in the saddle and we plan to do just that heading back to the coast for a nice break from the weather and with luck, some good yellowtail action. The bright note of the day is that our guys up above found encouraging conditions in the albacore zone that we are optimistic will improve as we approach the new moon on Friday.

7-13-2004What a glorius day of flat calm weather, gorgeous scenery, and beautiful conditions that kicked out a modest morning score of yellowtail before we headed back out to the offshore pursuit. The first day did not exactly turn out as we hoped but was far from a total bust and well worth the effort. At the very least we got to shake the kinks out in preparation for what we hope will be better fishing down the road. We definitely saw improved signs in the albacore zone as the day progressed and although they were scattered out and for the most part reluctant to bite, we are encouraged by the indications......
