What a glorius day of flat calm weather, gorgeous scenery, and beautiful conditions that kicked out a modest morning score of yellowtail before we headed back out to the offshore pursuit. Other than an absolutely stunning sunset that reinforced my love for the open ocean there wasn't much to report as we covered a good stretch of new ground that offered little in the way of gamefish. From the reports above and in general it appears that the whole ocean is presently in a funk that only time will turn around. In reality such cycles are not unusual and during these times we simply continue trying while we search for the best prospective areas. Fishing I believe is what we call it and the down side of the cycles are a given with which we must contend. With plenty of time remaining to get the job done our search continues tomorrow in a new zone where we hope for glory.

The first day did not exactly turn out as we hoped but was far from a total bust and well worth the effort. At the very least we got to shake the kinks out in preparation for what we hope will be better fishing down the road.
