Bluefin Came To Play

6-13-2020
Royal Polaris Crew

Welcome Back;  Hello everyone, the crew of the Royal Polaris would like to welcome you back.  We had a decent day of Bluefin fishing, but our losses were big.  We had lots of tackle problems, any where from hooks straightening out, to light line breakage, spit-rings opening up.  We did some readjusting , and things started coming on the boat.

Most of the Bluefin were in the 60 to 80 pound grade, with a few going over the 100 pound mark.  We had a few first timers get their personnel best, but a bit cold for R/p showers.  As I’m writing this report we have a couple going, and fish under the boat, so as long as the bite, we will continue to catch them.

The hot ticket today was the colt sniper, but if you go out and get a few for your next trip, make sure you get some Owner stinger treble hooks  (st-66tn4x) size 1/o.  If your coming with us, we have them on the boat.   If we were playing baseball we been in the hall of fame, but batting 500 out here is not very good.

Weather today was overcast, with a slight breeze in the morning, just enough to get the kite out, but by this evening we had 12 to 15 knots of breeze, making it a bit chilly in the middle of June.  So with that note we will arrive to Fisherman’s landing in the morning and get ready for another day and a half trip, departing Saturday night.  So wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our daily events.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 226-8092 to get in on the action.

Hello everyone;   Well mother-nature said hold on a minute, let me remind you I’m still around.  For the last 48 hours, we’ve had 22-30 knots of breeze, and a tough way to go.  But it’s over and we continue to move north, hoping it will come down even more.  Our last day of fishing before traveling, we had excellent Wahoo fishing again, and the Yellowfin made a showing, but the taxman would not let you land one.  So it was time......
