Out and underway again departing with an exceptional load of bait courtesy of Everingham Bait Company. Featuring jumbo sardines and mackerel of both varieties what we have is ideal for long range fishing down below. And that is exactly the plan.

Playing through is the present strategy placing the local pursuit of offshore tuna on the back burner. It's no news that the incredible quantity of both blue and yellowfin tuna have been maddeningly finicky of late. Spots of jumpers, machine fish, and other surface signs abound, but getting them to bite is a tale of frustration. They're definitely good at it; good at reminding us why the successful outings are so tremendously gratifying.

Rest assured that those more productive local offshore periods are in store. It is only a matter of time. In our case that time will not likely be in the next few days however as we venture long range for the traditional grounds. Our predecessors laid an encouraging foundation that we seek to build upon. Reports and photos of our daily exploits are soon to follow.

We are heading down to fish yellows at an island tomorrow....... Read More
