Fish Report for 1-30-2013
1/29/13
We finished on the strong note we were looking for with another four deuces and twenty something mid graders from
100 - 196 pounds. It was a nice day of steady scratching, but it came with a price. The tab for the glorious
weather we experienced at the beginning of this voyage came due about seven days back. Unfortunately we are still
busy squaring up the debt.
I could set to assigning a bounty of colorful nautical descriptions to the wind and sea state but as it is still
far from comfortable, and I'm admittedly short on humor, I'll go with the standard "ass kicking" to set the tone.
The fish came aboard just the same but every individual was hard earned before they were hooked, while they were
battled, and as they were dressed and prepared for RSW storage. Needless to say there are well exercised legs all
around.
Photo for the day features the "Commander" Jeff Houck who once again defined the term "hard core" as he picked yet
another deuce, this one at 208, from the mid morning chunk line.

1-29-20131/28/13 Another twist in conditions today in support of the continuing erratic theme. Despite the oceanic gyre attempting another curve we managed to make a fine morning of it with a couple of good go arounds on 170 - 199's with three that came in over 200. It was a great foundation that set us well for the afternoon push. But, consistent with the trend, the push today did not come. One here one there is what it amounted to in the...... Read More

01/27/13 We rolled out on the wrong side of the bed this morning to be sure. Wompass conditions have been a theme during the past few days that have a way of making anything one does feel backward. This morning was no exception. But for a few "skinnies" and just shy of a handful of tuna the noon hour rolled by making way for bounty of consternation. Four p.m. came along and I finally resorted to the last item in my...... Read More
