This was more like it, and far more consistent with what we have been observing over the past couple of days.
Steady action on good grade yellowfin (70 - 125's) was the theme throughout the day with the only question
remaining being the whereabouts of the jumbos. A couple were landed in the vicinity, but we came up with none
at all; no bites, no misses.

But, after the first couple of days that featured a lot of searching and far less catching we're not in a
position to complain. This was what we needed to finally get established; a nice, full day of rail time with
results in the hatch. It was a good day of fishing.

And, to make it that much better, the wind and seas that have been dishing out a little grief subsided into
what we consider nothing short of paradise: flat calm; no wind, no seas. Taking all things into account we are
back in the saddle in every respect. Now it is big fish time.

Captain Toussaint is behind the helm tomorrow so we'll see if he can close the deal during the next couple of
days with his famous magic. Well, it's more than just magic, but anyone who has fished with Randy well knows
the legendary sixth sense he employs while fishing. Too consistent to be luck, and too uncommon to be skill,
the answer lies somewhere between explicable and surreal. Therein lies the beauty of his distinct style -
we'll never really know.

Two admin notes to close the day on beginning with my apologies for the delinquent photos thus far: time has
been in short order with images taking the back seat to the reality of fish Captain responsibilities over the
past couple of days. Second is a reminder to any and all that the 12 day following Christmas, Tec 26 - Jan 7th
has a couple of spots open for any of you last minute anglers considering a big tuna voyage. Signs are booming
right now with all indications suggesting more good things to come. Tomorrow's reporting just may provide some
more details to that end. We shall see.

12/11/12 No shortage of looking today; both looking for and looking at great volume of yellowfin tuna. Of course this should suggest a bounty of action and glowing accounts of glory but the near opposite was true. I say near opposite because we did accomplish some catching; a little here and a little there added up to more than a few by day's end. But oh the potential, oh what a time it will be if even a small fraction of...... Read More

12/10/12 No rip roaring start here; the exact opposite truth be told. We saw sign, plenty of it, but catching was another story: easier said than done. So the games begin. I could drone on about this, that, and the other but reality is too stark to make light at present. Our work is cut out for us here; no milk run this time. Never ones to shirk a challenge we are geared for battle with all things still favoring success. Time,...... Read More
