Well the good news is that there continues to be very good sign of quality yellowfin in the lower offshore zone. The bad news is that the hoped for break in the weather did not occur and the guys were hamstrung all day as a result. In fact, working conditions were just short of horrible and shut down the pursuit by noon as the guys hunkered down on the anchor scratching out a few dorado and hooking a few tuna while the challenging conditions drummed on. The encouraging news for all is that despite hideous conditions, the fish bit a little in the morning. Given that fact, and the fantastic signs reported by Capt. Sims, I can safely venure the opinion that it is only a matter of time before more very good action on those tuna is realized. As for the trophy class yellowfin, or at least fish over one hundred pounds, they are in the mix and will be good for more than a few surprises as well. Until then however, all we can do is hope that mother nature gives the guys on board a break as they have definitely paid dues for a large portion of us on pending voyages. According to the latest forecasts they definitely have their work cut out for them so we'll hope for the best and report accordingly.
