Royal Star

12/24/12

It has been an incredible year. By any measure our best in many seasons. And this is due to an amazing quantity of support, an amazing degree of loyalty that Royal Star anglers exhibit year after year. We are grateful for so many reasons.

The year has not been without it's up's and down's. In fact the marked ying and yang effect of various events has challenged our positive nature in more than a few instances. But the upside of both the real and petty tyrants intent upon sapping our enthusiasm in life is the contrast they provide between the dark and light; between the good and bad.

We have realized so much good, so much positive support, that it drowns out even the strongest effort to tear us down. "Ye shall reap as ye sow". I love that saying. It is proven in some form just about every day. Royal Star anglers remind us of this reality daily.

They don't do it because they are overcome by temporary fervent passion for some misguided cause. They do it because they are sincere, appreciative, genuine individuals. They do it in respect for the relationships we have built over the past seventeen years.

Whether it be a simple phone call to check in, a thoughtful letter or e-mail that restores balance in an amazing few words, or a cheerful visit at the office or down at the docks all forms of recognition remind us of why we drive to achieve excellence in this fishery. The rewards on a human level are extraordinary, and create a dedication unique, sincere, and profound.

This holiday season we are thankful; thankful and honored for the loyalty our efforts have engendered, the gifts we possess, and the overwhelming positive, intelligent, appreciative nature of the vast majority of people. With a little down time to measure and consider the value of all things this is what I consistently land upon. It is a good thing, and a good world. Let us all be thankful, thoughtful, appreciative, and generous this season. Greetings and thank you to everyone from all of us at Royal Star.

12/15/12 Altogether not a bad ride - certainly not worthy of complaint, or enough to spoil the victory celebration that commenced upon departure. The mood was festive to put it lightly as this seasoned group of fishermen understand the measure of success all too well in this arena. A bounty of beautiful yellowfin tuna and wahoo in the hatch, a wealth of fishing time, and catching, under our belts, beautiful scenery and calm seas to compliment the action - all these...... 12/14/12 A strong finish to the fishing portion of this run beginning with a classic morning hit on the big baits followed again by steady picking throughout the day on 70 - 120's along with more than a few "skin". We broke up the action mid morning trying a few old haunts in search of a solitary giant but all we managed to find was even more school size fish. The present quantity of life around this zone is staggering....... Read More
