Fish Report for 10-4-2012
We had a great day of action and variety today. We started with a good bite on
20-30# yellowtail that lasted for about an hour and a half. It was an iron
throwers dream as they bit the jig very well. We then switched target species,
looking for tuna and dorado. We had steady action throughout the late morning
and afternoon punctuated by a good kelp which produced wide open action on both
species.
When the action gets hot and heavy all seven crewmen are on deck assisting
anglers. Galley assistant Nestor Parada handled the gaff for Larry Brown on this
20 # class dorado.

In the afternoon we put together a few stops on yellowfin tuna up to about 22#. We managed to put together a pretty good score once we had them located. With the weather laying down we will be in the same area again tomorrow. When there are fish around the boat...... Read More

10/01/12 We had an incredible day of yellowtail fishing today. With the exception of about two hours mid morning we had the boat stopped, anglers at the rail, and fish on our lines. The yellows were 17 - 28# and biting fish. We will nurse some sore muscles tonight and be hard at it again in the morning. Stan Sperling gets the honors today showing off one of his yo-yo yellows caught on a sardine pattern HT-4.7. Brian Photo Here... ...... Read More
