Fish Report for 6-16-2012
06/15/12
After departing last night on the first of three 2.5 day trips we headed down to do some offshore prospecting. The fish got right with the program early this morning and between the bluefin (20 - 30 lbs.) and the yellowtail(8 - 17) we had an action packed day of fishing. We managed to stay in good water all day never going more than an hour between stops. With full limits of yellowtail, thirty six bluefin, and near flat calm conditions we enjoyed the day so much that we will be in the same area again tomorrow.
If you are thinking about one of our upcoming 2.5 day mini long range adventures all of the action that we had today was well within range allowing for two full days of fishing; all fishing and minimal traveling - this is how we prefer it.
Our pictures today feature a group shot of happy anglers and their prize bluefin. Second, an action shot of bent rods at the rail. Look for plenty more of this type action in the next few weeks as they are now here. And rest assured more, a lot more, are on the way!

Photo number two features a bridge perspective most anglers don't have the chance to see because they are too busy pulling on fish during times like these. This shot of the loaded fathometer was taken about half way through one of our better afternoon stops on offshore Bluefin a couple of trips back. It...... Read More

Randy Toussaint in full focus moments before driving the gaff home in a eighty pound YFT at Alijos Rocks, and Chief Engineer Sean Bickel digging for an eighty pound offshore bluefin as it dove for the chine. Otherwise we are tied up for a few more days before resuming our schedule with the first of three 2 ? day runs. As a reminder the first voyage departing this Thursday is full but the...... Read More
