Royal Star Fish Report

6-22-2011
Royal Star

With a few days at the dock to tend to small projects before getting her up and running for the remainder of the summer we have flash news to report that bodes well for any anglers still looking to get in on the bluefin action offshore. First is the fact that the guys are back on them even closer to home; second is the fact that good weather is in the forecast through next week; third is the fact that a few spots on the upcoming four day that is perfectly aligned to take full advantage of the present BFT action just became available. Saturday June 25th - Wednesday June 29th is now open to three or four anglers ready to jump on. We just filled two spots yesterday so give Tracy a call to book if you can make it happen.

The signs of BFT in the long range offshore zone are good and getting better. The timing is ideal coming into the next new moon. The traffic offshore is minimal due to the distance that is perfect for long range. The schools are still fresh not having been busted up by extreme fishing pressure. The upcoming four day will provide three days of prime offshore fishing in the zone. Now is the time! We look forward to making this a fantastic voyage with yours truly at the helm backed up by Captain Brian "Gerbie" Sims and our premier Royal Star crew. In the meantime we are at the dock prepping Royal Star while chomping to get back on the offshore grounds - only three more days to go!

This was appreciated because as soon as the bait hit the bottom, guys were bit. There was alot of laughter at the rail as our anglers...... Read More

After a flat calm night on the anchor, we got rolling and found some yellowtail that were willing to bite. We drifted for most of the morning with a couple going. A few times we got flashed and had 6 - 8 going. This made for a great morning of yellowtail fishing. In the afternoon we made a move and checked out another area. We found beautiful water conditions, but few fish that wanted to bite. Just before dark we...... Read More
