Fish Report for 9-2-2010
With dismal offshore reports and mediocre weather we opted to start our five day trip at an island where we arrived this afternoon. It didn't take long before we got on a nice school that produced wide open angling on 18-25lb yellows until dark. It took a little while to work out the kinks as is usually the case when you start a trip with full speed fishing though after a few hours we were working together like a well oiled machine.
We are going to give this one more day before taking a shot at the offshore scene. The bite did pick up a bit this afternoon so hopefully we can finish up on some tuna to round out the trip.

8-31-2010I told the guys before embarking on this move that regardless of what we caught it was the right thing to do. We began the voyage with gang busters action on beautiful yellowtail for the first two days; enough so that we did not need, or want, to take any more. It's probably better to let the pictures do the talking today as we caught almost zero on the long northerly trek. Not that we had big visions of production; we were prepared for this as the weather was up and we drew an inside line to avoid the worst of it, but it would have been nice to grapple at least a little something.
