We departed today on the annual Mitch Otera Charter. We have very nice weather on our way to the offshore grounds. Check back tomorrow for the report for the first fishing day.

8-20-2009Our perseverance finally paid off here at Guadalupe today with good fishing on this quality tuna. It was a nice steady scratch from late morning on for a total of 62 fish from 50-75lbs. Had the resident tax collector not taken his thirty percent, we would have had a huge day. Hopefully today signaled a biting trend which should bode well for upcoming trips. A little better scratch today that started with a fair morning bite then turned into a slow pick. We ended up with 34 tuna and 30 yellows which given the quality, made for a nice day. We are going to try this again tomorrow with the hopes that today's improved fishing signified a better biting trend. Once again the tuna sign here is incredible so rest assured, this place is going to start kicking out some impressive scores in the...... Read More
