Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

Not much more than a travel day overall though we did break up the ride with a three hour layover at the island. A few bigger yellowtail and enough bass for a tasty lunch were the results that came from the flat calm lee amidst beautiful conditions. Overall we did see good indications of the "premium" size yellows with a couple of big spots showing back in the kelp on local baits but they showed scant interest in our offerings. Honestly, the lack of results on yellowtail was taken with a grain of salt as we are already in good shape in the quantity department. More than anything it was a welcome break from traveling that went a long way toward diffusing the energy we stored up throughout the morning. So we continued underway focused on our final day in the offshore grounds hoping to close out this incredibly successful adventure with a few rounds of bluefin tuna and albacore before calling it a trip. Primo weather graces the effort and we are well positioned to make the most of whatever opportunities we encounter. Though we can not in good conscious ask for anything more we would appreciate ending on a high note. We are focused on the task and will report accordingly tomorrow.

This was a great opportunity for anglers to experience the reality of Wahoo fishing that naturally comes with every calamity and way to lose a fish that one can imagine. Even...... Read More

Meeting the challenges that come with delivering on our commitment of producing premium quality product amidst the intensity of wide open catching on 50 - 80# yellowfin tuna, or any size tuna for that matter, is when they are at their finest. Today we had our chance - and then some. At one point during the big morning hit I...... Read More
