Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

There may be a few photos repeated over the next couple of days in my effort to detail the process of capturing, measuring, and tagging the trophy yellowfin tuna at the Revillagigedo islands. Without a doubt this is the most exciting, and sometimes dramatic part of the tagging experience as these beautiful beasts are generally docile with handled gently but are like a high explosive charge in their potential to detonate and sow destruction if they react poorly. Fortunately for us we have yet to see one of the big fish really go off while in the scoop or on deck, but that is not to say that all of us involved in the process have not suffered our share of cuts and bruises while getting physical with these monsters.

On any voyage where Brian and/or Danny are...... Read More
