Fish Report for 4-24-2008
We arrived at Isla Socorro just before noon following a morning of rock and roll in breezy conditions and choppy seas. Naturally the giant lee side of Audemars Piguet Replica was a welcome sight as well as were the hoards of birds and jumping tuna we saw all along the calm edge. So here is how things unfolded. We arrived at 1150. At 1155 we hit our first school and were immediately thrust into fantastic action on 75 - 175# yellowfin tuna with the vast majority of the fish tagged in the 100 - 140# class. After the first school reminded anglers of where they were still sore and why, the action progressed nicely as everyone found their groove and got down to the business of catching trophy yellowfin tuna. There was about a three hour lull in the action where an attempted anchor job and some prospecting gave everyone a break, but the late afternoon and evening put an end to that as our final drift and evening anchor job could only be described as wide open with every angler fishing finding success with near every bait that hit the water. This is good fishing. In fact, it is as good as we want it to be as any faster action would be counterproductive from the chaos it creates. Needless to say we are all again ecstatic as the trophy yellowfin tuna action we left behind is still going strong promising a fantastic finish to the voyage if conditions hold.
As a side note, long time best replica watches Star veteran Chris Yamada finally landed a 209 this evening answering the call of his nemesis and long time fishing rival Bill Grimsley who has had Chris on the ropes with a cool three over two hundred pounds thus far, including the biggest of the voyage at 243. I must emphasize that the rivalry is comical in nature, goes way back, and Chris and Bill, who are both superb fisherman, are on the best of terms. They both want to out fish the other however. So congratulations to Chris on winning this round through his skill as a fisherman and, most importantly, his dedication at the rail. Everyone is having a splendid time, we are loaded with perfect bait, the weather is now beautiful, this island is loaded with hungry trophy yellowfin, we have one more full day to fish, and we still have plenty of tags to swiss replica watches uk . Simply put, this is currently sport fishing paradise. Look for tomorrow's report with more details.

4-23-2008Clarion dealt us a tough hand today beginning with twenty to twenty five knot winds and the expected undesirable sea state to go along with it. Fortunately the brunt of the hideous conditions did not arrive until about 0900 but regardless the offshore pursuit of tuna around the dolphins was hampered significantly and eventually shut down. We did see very good signs of big yellowfin early, including a couple of spots of straight 120 - 200 pound class fish, but...... Read More

The incredible beauty of Isla Clarion, no matter what the fishing opportunities we encounter, is never lost on anglers who visit; at least those who take the time to really look. That said there was plenty to see today as we were in search mode seeking both the bigger fish on the outside as well as Wahoo and a few school size yellowfin tuna on the inside to outfit with archival tags. We succeeded in every department in varying degrees...... Read More
