We plowed into battle today fully prepared to take a few lumps as always is the case in the grand arena of trophy yellowfin angling when the weather turns sour. That is not to say we didn't have a good day however; we did. In fact, the eight yellowfin we landed over the coveted two hundred pound mark and twenty others from one fifty to one ninety qualify this day as fantastic by any standard. But, if the weather had been on our side, man what a day on giants this would have been. The big ones were definitely around today and provided us with consistent opportunities throughout the morning and afternoon. As far as chances go this day was as good as an angler could ever hope for with the odds of hooking into a bona fide trophy almost one hundred percent for those anglers willing to put in their time at the rail. What a day.

The good news is that the sloppy conditions that wreaked havoc on our efforts today is thankfully forecast to back off tomorrow. Providing the fish are around and in the mood, we are gearing up with a vengence ready to turn the tables on these brutes. Time is still on our side so we will see how things unfold. I can say that it feels awfully good around here with very good indications of these big ones in the present zone we are working. Less the six to ten foot seas and twenty to twenty five knots of breeze that create such an incredible strain on any class of gear, this area has the potential to produce catches of giant yellowfin comparable to any we have experienced in the past. 294, 257, 255, 251, 244, 221, 217, 209, and 200 pounds today in hideous sea conditions We can hardly wait for tommorrow.
