We enjoyed a leisurely day of working southeast hitting kelps along the way that began sporadically producing fine quality yellowtail and dorado when we finally found a productive line just after noon. It definitely was not a slaughter, and we could have used a few more to satisfy all our catching urges, but a good time was had by all as the stop and go action was steady throughout the afternoon. Now the southerly trek continues as we plan to reach the bottom end of our track tomorrow in the Isla Cedros region targeting the big yellows for at least a full day; perhaps two. It sounds like the finicky, unpredictable, confoundingly difficult to catch this year albacore went on the bite again today so we will be keeping a close eye on the action above as the option to work back up the line for a final day of offshore albacore action still exists. First things first however, we will focus on our yellowtail tomorrow with high hopes for a good showing.

After our "lucky" morning kelp, the action...... Read More
