Fish Report for 8-30-2006
This morning epitomized why we love fishing Guadalupe so much. At 0330 we started with a nice steady bite on 30-40lb yellows that bit until just before daylight when the 60-80lb tuna took over. After catching the first few tuna on dropper loops, the flylined baits starting getting bit and before we knew what hit us, there were eight hanging and it wasn't even daylight yet. When the smoke cleared at 0630 we called it a trip after an incredible three hour bite that produced 40 yellows and 17 tuna, the best dark bite I've personally ever seen here. We are presently enjoying a beautiful ride up and will be in at 0700 tomorrow. Tim and I will be leaving on another 5-day tomorrow so look for reports to resume on the 1st.
