Fish Report for 10-31-2004
Thus far it has been a Wahoo season to remember with just about every trip run this month producing noteworthy quantities of the skinny gamesters. This trip is no exception with the latest report from Captain Medak indicating more fine wahoo fishing in addition to consistent action on variety. The only significant void is that of the quality yellowfin that have all but disappeared from scores in the latest round of long range trips. This of course is not unusual as we typically see a transition period at this time of the year before the fish begin to stack up on the ?beach?. The ?beach? area encompasses the broad region from Cabo San Lucas to outside Bahia Magdalena where we typically find schools of yellowfin running around offshore. As we head into November, let us hope that this is again the case as we all remember the incredible yellowfin action in all the traditional zones last season. In addition, we have certainly enjoyed our share of years where the fishing for wahoo not only remains favorable into the months of November and December but actually improves. Markus and the guys are now working their way up the line hoping to round out the catch with some beach yellowtail action before calling it a trip and heading up the line. Our arrival is slated for 0800 hrs on November 2nd just in time for voting day.
On that note I certainly hope that everyone gets out there and votes for the right candidate in this election that is perhaps the most significant in our nation?s history. We are keeping our fingers crossed that everyone makes an intelligent decision based on facts not emotion. We are all patriots here at Royal Star with strong convictions and respect for our country, political system, and leadership. I sincerely hope that you are all the same.
God Bless America

10-28-2004Well the guys are piecing it together with Captain Medak displaying a fine memory of the old haunts. Yesterday was a classic day of variety angling with school class yellowfin dominating the action and other ridge favorites filling the voids. It sounded like the species list was complete with everything from Wahoo to grouper mixed in the action while the weather continued to work in their favor. Today Captain Medak made a strategically sound adjustment and the guys reaped the...... Read More

After speaking with Captain Markus Medak, who is making a guest appearance on Royal Star this voyage, I am sorry to report that we continue to experience difficulty with the computer on board. I will keep everyone posted however and we will do our best to get on line for the following voyage. The guys worked their way down the inside where they began fishing in the wake of some very good wahoo action. Timing is everything in this game...... Read More
