OK: we are back on line heading toward Clipperton island in beautiful weather and calm seas with a fantastic load of anglers on board and a incredible load of bait supplied by our efforts with the lampara net in Panama and Randy and the boy's efforts on the caballito while traveling north towards Zihuatanejo. That is right, we are not only loaded with perfect anchoveta but a full load of caballito that together make for as good a load of bait to depart with as anyone could hope for. Now comes the two and a half day jog to Clipperton that should put us at the island in the early a.m. on the 15th.

As a side note I want to mention that the first long range voyage ever to depart from the beautiful Mexican town of Zihuatanejo succeeded without a hitch due to the grand welcome we received from local friends. A huge thanks must be passed on to "Big Fish" Gary Sato whose introductions streamlined the challenge and also developed new, valuable friendships. I headed down to the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo area one day prior to Royal Star's arrival and my first hand report has nothing but good news about the region from both a professional and recreational aspect. I would highly recommend this area to any prospective vacationers and we look forward to more Royal Star long range voyages departing from this beautiful region in the future. This new era in long range fishing has opened many doors and we are pleased to report that the Zihuatanejo area offers stunning beauty, wonderful local charm with amenable, welcoming residents, and many logistical advantages for future long range voyages.
As long as the phone is up and running we will keep the reports coming and our apologies for the long delay caused by equipment failure during our final Panama voyage. I am very pleased to report that all is well with Royal Star and our crew and we are eagerly anticipating our arrival at Clipperton on the 15th.
