"Our good fortunes continued yet again today," wrote skipper Aaron Barnhill of the Shogun November 7, "with more steady action on quality tuna, yellowtail, and even a few more wahoo. We arrived at our destination in the dark, and shortly after daybreak the tuna showed up and started crashing around the boat slurping up both flylined sardines as well as kite baits. We were able to keep a pretty steady pace all the way up until lunch, keeping one to four fish on the lines almost all the time. The tuna were divided into two groups, one of 15 to 30 pounds and the other 35 to 60 pounds. After lunch we pulled the anchor and trolled up a few more nice wahoo to top off our day's catch. Weather today was gorgeous with a very nice sea state and lots of warm sunshine. Tonight we will travel up the line and will be working our way north all day tomorrow trolling for wahoo and trying for a few yellowtail as we head up the line."
