Brian Kiyohara finished up a seven-day trip with 27 anglers at Point Loma Sportfishing June 22. He tied up his American Angler and weighed the jackpot fish.

"Alijos Rocks was scratchy for yellowfin," he said, "but good for yellowtail, and so was Cedros."

Bob Chapman, a regular from Newport Beach, won first place for an 80-pound Alijos tuna. He bagged it with a sardine on a Mustad 91450 hook on 40-pound Ande line, an Avet LX 6-3 reel and a Calstar 700 H rod.

"It was about a 20-minute fight," said Bob. "He bit close to the boat and took a lot of line."

Eddie Gonzales of Long Beach was second, for a 64.7-pound tuna, and George Banks of Bermuda Dunes won third place for a 56.2-pound yellowfin.
