All-Day Tuna

8-1-2011
Bill Roecker

"Fishing turned around out here at the Rocks for us today," said the report from Intrepid for August 1. "It wasn't wide open or fast and furious, but just a steady bite. The Yellowfin started showing right at daylight and stayed with us until late in the afternoon which was a nice change from yesterday. We also were able to keep the Yellowtail going throughout most of the day. The Tuna are a nice grade of fish in the 50 to 100-pound class and the Yellows are the 20 to 30-pound class with some smaller ones in the mix as well. The Nor-Cal Tuna Chaser club has a coveted Pink Skirt Award that goes to the last man standing or the last fisherman to boat a fish. Yesterday the last man standing was last years Jackpot winner Ray Mosier, who proudly fished the entire day today with his skirt on! We are all having a blast and will remain here to hope for more good fishing tomorrow."
