Baja Dream

6-21-2026
Tim Ekstrom

Following a heavenly night of anchored calm the search continued along the rugged Southern Baja coast. Steady small hits on 15-25 pound yellows added up along with numerous additional variety bonuses. Between the setting, signs of fish, abundant life, and inclement conditions on the outside we couldn't tear ourselves away. Nightfall again found us fast to the bottom behind a protective point bow into a stiff wind relishing the manufactured flat calm. Ahhh....Today's images feature Royal Star angler Daman Malone reefing on a beautiful yellowtail on the new CalStar 90J "long rod", and Daman, Duke, and Captain Brian Sims with the trophy in hand.
