The Long Range Sportfishing Vessel the Intrepid docked Sunday, July 5th at Point Loma Sportfishing after returning from an excellent 8 day trip.
Charter Master Mike Shire and 19 other anglers experienced excellent fishing conditions down at Alijos Rocks for 50 - 70# Yellowfin Tuna and 20 - 30# Yellowtail. It was also reported by the anglers that the Sheephead bite was all you wanted on the dropper loop
2 1/2 Days were spent at the Rock with one morning out at the Alijos Banks for whopper Dropper Loop Yellows.
The boat then headed to Cedros for a good day of large Yellow fishing.
The last day was spent in the local grounds for a few bluefin tuna.
Jackpot of the trip went to Al Gardner with a 110.6 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Second place went to Mike Shirer with an 83 lb Tuna and 3rd place was rounded up by Jessie Drake with a 72.2 lb Tuna.
If you have not experience this boat you must. It is the newest of the long range fleet and has all the bells and whistles. Capt. Kevin runs a good operation and Javier in the Galley is second to none. Get out and go fishing!
