Another signature, 11th hour strong finish with good action on this beautiful, 60 - 90 pound class bluefin ’til the last fishing minute. Grateful as hell that these bastards finally gave it up this catch did not come without more than our share of trials. A lot of water was covered during this voyage and a lot of fish were seen. But that didn’t necessarily translate into a banner catch. An inexplicable amount of what we found just wasn’t ready to bite. Rest assured that they will be in a big way soon coming. And we will be there to mete out justice.

In the end, through pure determination and effort, we did manage to fulfill the big three - quality, variety, and adequate quantity. Add in perfect weather, beautiful scenery, and a very cool group of anglers who rolled with the punches and made a good time of every day on the water, and we confidently chalk this one up in the category of success. Many thanks are extended to Charter Masters Larry Brown and Dave Berutich who once again assembled a fine group of anglers. Sharing time at sea with individuals such as these is our pleasure. Thank you again to Dave, Larry, and everyone else on the voyage.

Photo today features long time Royal Star angler Phil Bell who is famous for his siren call of “Amarillo!!!!” whenever he ties into a California Yellowtail. In this case the call was “Azul!!!”. An ecstatic Phil expresses his pleasure alongside this 80 pound class bluefin tuna. Additional photos feature the lists of fine sponsors who proudly support our fishery and this voyage. Thank you again!!!
