Shogun arrived at Fisherman's Landing August 19 after Norm Kagawa skippered the boat to an interesting catch.
Chartermaster John Wadden of Auburn won first and third places, for a 91-pound yellowfin and a 43.2-pound yellowtail. He said he got the big tuna on a sardine on a 3/0 ringed Mutu hook, with 40-pound P-Line on an Accurate 665 reel and a Calstar 700 H rod.
"He beat me up for an hour and 40 minutes," said John.
Brian Leaman of Lakeside won second place for a 73-pound yellowfin, a fish he said he got off a passing breezer with a Salas 7X jig in sardine swirl on 40-pound P-Line, and Avet JX reel and a Super Seeker Ulua 93 H rod.
