Hi Everyone,

We are currently one week into our scheduled maintenance for the boat and everything has been going smooth. We are hauled out at the G Street Marine Group Shipyard and I cannot say enough good things about what a great facility they have. The scope of work that we have planned is extensive as we will be replacing all of our engine equipment with new. New main engines, new transmissions, and new generators. This week has been spent in preparation of removing the existing engines and prepping the boat for the work ahead. As I write this, the first main engine and transmission for removal is rigged and starting to come out of the boat. As you can see in the pictures, we had to make our access point for this project on the side of the hull. Not really a disadvantage to having access through the deck as everything will be rigged over and removed out the side. When all of the new equipment in installed, the side plate will be welded back on, the welds will be fared smooth to the existing hull, and then painted like it never happened. One of the many advantages to steel construction. We are excited to have all new machinery in the boat as we will gain performance and reliability. Good stuff happening right now. Thanks for checking in, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
