Well the boys have made a nice go of it on the yellowtail enjoying a few days at the famed Alijos Rocks putting together a good catch on quality "forkies". In good weather they have made their way north turning over every stone possible along the way. The June search for something offshore beyond the 40 mile mark has proven to be a challenge none of our long range fleet can overcome, yet. We will, rest assured that change for the better will come, but for now we all have to sit satisfied in the knowledge that the bluefin and yellowfin offshore are exactly where they want to be; and that where is close to home. Now for them to get down to business and start to bite; another tall order during the past couple of weeks that also will ultimately change. RSW tanks brimming with quality yellowtail the boys are invested in tuna offshore for the last day of the voyage. Currently sporting one bonus 75 pound "Oprah" for the morning they are solidly into the fish hoping that one of the many schools that they hit today will be the right one. They are certainly the right size. Abundant 100 pound plus fish are around and visible in the beautiful conditions currently offshore. As I ended my conversation with Captain Randy Toussaint he informed me that they had a couple of the bigger fish hooked and suffered a couple more heartbreaks for the morning. Look for a full recap tomorrow following our morning arrival. As most have determined the boys have been battling technical problems with the internet during this voyage. A recent upgrade in our equipment produced a few bugs that we will iron out next week before our schedule resumes. Reports from the water have been non-existent this week because of technical issue, not from a lack of initiative or desire. We'll be back on line before the next trip departs ready once again to deliver information to Royal Star friends and families direct from the water. Tim Ekstrom

Today after a few more good Yellows in the morning, we went looking offshore. We found good water holding plenty of bait, birds and dolphins. The gamefish were elusive, though it felt like we could find them over the next swell all afternoon. We will be in search mode for the morning tomorrow as we could use a little offshore action. ...... Read More
