The prime fishing season at The Ridge typically runs from late spring through early fall (May to October). During these months, the waters are warmer, and a variety of game fish are more active.

  • Yellowfin Tuna
  • Wahoo
  • Dorado (Mahi-Mahi)
  • Yellowtail
  • Marlin (Striped, Blue, and Black)
  • Sailfish
  • Grouper
  • Snapper

Popular techniques for targeting these species include:

  • Trolling with lures or live bait
  • Jigging for bottom fish
  • Fly-lining live bait for pelagic species
  • Using poppers and stickbaits for surface action

Equipment:

  • Medium to heavy-duty saltwater rods and reels
  • Braided line (30-80 lb test)

They ensure the vessel is well-maintained and equipped for long-range trips, carry ample supplies of fuel, water, and food. Logistically, these experienced crews and their vessels, have a reliable GPS, satellite phone, emergency equipment, and stay  aware of weather conditions and potential hazards.

Vessel operators stay informed about current fishing reports and conditions to help ensure a successful trip. Your captain and vessel crew will help you obtain the necessary fishing permits and clearances from the relevant authorities, are aware of and adhere to local fishing regulations and catch limits and practice sustainable fishing to preserve the ecosystem.

You'll need to ensure that you communicate with the office staff about passport requirements, deposit schedules, cancellation policies, recommendations about clothing, sea sickness medications and travel insurance, before booking your trip and prior to your trip date.
