Hi Gang,

I would like to start this post with a sincere apology to all of our customers that were booked on trips that we had to cancel. These cancellations were unforeseen, and we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this may have imposed. With our new equipment, we performed sea trials for the United States Coast Guard, Marine Group Boat Works, Dependable Marine, and Caterpillar. All of our Coast Guard inspections went well and our inspectors Mike Shevlin and Bill Hawn from Sector San Diego were very happy with the work that was done. Marine Group inspected the alignment on our engine install found the equipment operating perfectly with little to no vibration at various RPM's. Dependable Marine and Caterpillar performed extensive diagnostic tests on all of the new engines including load banks on both generators to pull full load capabilities, and performance tests on the main engines at all RPM's. All of our engines tested perfectly. Our new Twin Disc MGX Quick Shift transmissions performed better than expected and on various tests were able to gradually transmission load on the main engines. The performance of the boat with the new equipment is what has impressed me the most. We now have more speed and are more fuel efficient. One of the many design changes during this retro-fit was our engine room ventilation system. We went from a couple of ventilation fans to 9 high CFM Delta T fans. This upgrade has brought our engine room operating temp down by as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Impressive to say the least. We have finished many more upgrades on top of the engine room work that has improved our boat greatly. We are currently loading supplies for our annual Anglers Choice 6-day trip which departs tomorrow morning at 0800 sharp. We are all very excited to start fishing again. Thanks for checking in, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
