Searcher's first day of the trip yields a nice catch of Dorado, Yellowtail & Yellowfin

Bill Roecker

"Our first day was pretty productive with some small yellowfin tuna and dorado," wrote Searcher owner-operator Art Taylor October 20. "We tagged some of the tuna and kept some for the galley. We had good action on dorado associated with kelp paddies. Most of the dorado were nice sized, in the 12 to 15 pound range. Our weather was great with light winds and not much swell. Headed further south for some yellowtail action tomorrow. Pictured with a nice 40 pound yellowfin tuna is Dietmar Kruger from Santa Monica and a long time member of the LA Rod and Reel Club."
