New IGFA Small Fry record for 24.5 lb. Halibut caught by Ben Fizzell

"Eight-year-old Ben Frizzell just got approved for the IGFA Small Fry Record for a halibut he caught on my boat and my onemancharters.com.

"It was 24 pound, 8 ounces. The young man also had a white seabass and a yellowtail; the seabass would have smashed the IGFA Small Fry Record, but I touched the rod, and the yellow was just nine ounces short (wish now I hadn't bled it).

How into fishing is the kid? He was tossing plastics at the pylons while I trying to back the boat in, after he got the inshore slam."
