Searcher lands 15 Bluefin tuna

Bill Roecker

"We had a chance at some quality fish again this morning," reported Searcher July 7. "They didn't bite as well as we had hoped but we did have a chance. We drifted for a few hours and landed 15 of those 40 to 60-pound fish. We didn't find anything after that. We looked in the same area as yesterday and the fish weren't there. There was some good fishing for the rest of the fleet in the afternoon on smaller bluefin tuna, which is positive for the future. As always it is great to have Norm Fujimoto and the boys JK and Darrin from Izorline aboard. We had a really nice group of fisherman. Sal Catania from Las Vegas won the sportsmanship trophy this year and we are looking forward to weighing the jackpot in the morning."
