Red Rooster III returns from an 8 Day Trip to the Ridge

Skipper Andy Cates docked Red Rooster III June 28 after a good trip for yellowtail limits and a good catch of bluefin, the eight-day Salty Dawg trip to The Ridge.

First place went to Archie Irion of Escondido for a 130-poundn bluefin
Jin Chang of LA took second for a 120.9-pound bluefin,
and Jefferey Bruner of Westminster won third place for a 47-pounder.
Ted Adams of Vista got the trolling jacket for a 38.8-pound bluefin tuna.

On June 30, the boat posted: "Today we stopped in to Cedros to try for bait. We didn't find much so while we were on our way to the ridge we got on a nice bird school north of Natividad Island here. We ended up with 30 nice yellows. Now we're traveling down."
