Buts & Benitos

10-29-2011
Bill Roecker

"We are back to beautiful weather with calm seas," noted Frank LoPreste's Royal Polaris report for October 28. "The camaraderie with this group is excellent, sharing many laughs, catching many fish and watching the World Series. Our Halibut fishing today was on the poor side. We worked the whole lee of the island for three fish. Largest was a 20-pounder caught by David Piano. We slid over to Benitos Island at about 3 p.m. and our group had a ball fishing quality Yellows with fly lined Mackerel. Many were lost in the weeds or in the rocks but 55 were landed. We will be fishing for YFT and BFT tomorrow."
