"We had a fun day today at Cedros," reminisced Andy Cates, Red Rooster III skipper June 21. "We had a couple of drifts in the morning for 15 to 18-pound yellows. Then found an area of better size fish, up to 35 pounds. Unfortunately they wouldn't bite. We sat and watched them boil around for as long as we could. Landing only four fish. Then checked out Chester's Rock for a couple of 15-pound yellows. We went back up to the Island for an evening of bass and watching an occasional yellow boil. The weather was epic, the nicest day we have had, with sunshine and no wind. Tomorrow we will be trying for Bluefin tuna. Wish us luck. Hopefully they turn on tomorrow."
