Kid fun

The kid in all of us came out today when we found a classic “nursery kelp” hosting miniature versions of the gamefish we all know and love. Yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, and a few dorado were comically abundant ravenously gorging everything that hit the water. In the three to generously estimated ten pound range the light outfits came out and everyone had some fun albeit at the expense of the poor little devils. In grease calm conditions with zero pressure one and all were rightly released unharmed. While the last hurrah did little to augment the beautiful catch resting sound in the RSW tanks it was well worth the few minutes to wind down and fish for the pure joy of doing so.

Closing the book on this run we extend our gratitude to Don and Tracy Kuroye of BlackWater for sponsoring this annual seven day run. The performance of BlackWater products speaks for itself: there simply is nothing better. Final photo of the voyage features Royal Star veteran Mario Gonzales and Captain Paul Caramao with a fine, early morning Guadalupe yellowfin tuna.
